Create a Digital Photo Album and Get the Most Out of Your 4th of July Photos

By Sara Charles

The smoke's cleared and daylight on July 5 means it is time to clean up after your big 4th of July bash - but wait. Why not put off putting all those spent fireworks in the trash for just another hour and have some fun creating a digital photo album?

After all, the best time to take a look at all the photos you took on the 4th is right now. Of course, you may be reading this well after the 4th, and if so, then it really is time to get your photos into a digital photo album!

It's really very easy. The first step is to get your pictures onto a photo sharing website. Look for one that lets you upload hundreds at a time, without downloading any special software. Some sites even have an auto-fill feature that creates your album as you upload your pictures, automatically.

If you choose to build your album yourself, that's okay too, since it is really very easy tod do so. Once you have your photos uploaded, take a few moments to go through them online. If there are some that just didn't turn out, then go ahead and delete them. This will make organizing your digital photo album a bit easier.

Then, when you've decided on our final line up of photos, you can start thinking about the format and layout of your digital photo album.

First, select a size, style (window on the cover or no window), and cover material. Don't worry about the number of pages right now. It's easy to add pages to your digital photo album as you create it.

Start placing your photos into your layout. You can change the layout page by page as you progress. Also, once you're done, you can go back and adjust the layout or switch pictures, if you like.

As you build your digital photo album, keep a few things in mind: do you want to have a theme, other than the 4th of July? Maybe you can build it around a special relative who attended the party, or perhaps the fireworks pictures are especially beautiful and you want to build a theme around them.

If you don't want to have a special theme, that's okay too. There's nothing at all wrong with a digital photo album that simply has all your most loved 4th of July pictures in it.

If you do run out of space, be sure to add pages. It's usually very inexpensive to do so, and you'll be glad you added the extra space once you see the printed result.

That's the most gratifying part of the whole process of building a digital photo album. When you get your copy in the mail (usually just a few days after you order it, even with normal shipping), you'll feel wonderful about the good times you had with family and friends.

And when you show your loved ones your copy of your digital photo album, they're sure to ask you how you did it. They can easily order their own. Simply go back to the website and send them a link to the album. That way, they can register at the site and order their very own copy and can reminisce about all the 4th of July fun you had with each other!
